About Me

My name is April May Mitchell. I got the middle name May from my grandparents. That middle name has been in my family for years so no it is not because May comes after April ūüôā I was born on July 23, 1992 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I only lived in Colorado for about two years until my family moved to Pennsylvania. I was born in Colorado because my dad was in the army and was stationed there at the time. Speaking of my dad, my dad is my best friend, my hero, my everything. I can’t imagine living without him and I don’t think I ever could. He is the greatest person in the world to me and I cherish him more than anything. The rest of my family consists of my mom¬†and sister, Amy. She attends Cumberland Valley High School which is where I attended all four years. I also have a dog names Sparkiey who is a poodle. In high school, I cheered on Varsity all four years where I won several awards such as state champions, national champions, etc. Cheerleading was a big part of my life until I recently decided to quit after making IUP’s cheerleading team. I also played soccer but I never could try out for the school team because cheerleading was too big of a commitment for any other sports. I loved playing soccer, it made me feel so free. I love college, specifically IUP ūüôā¬†and I hope this year goes just as smoothly as last years did!

Topic: Forestry

Book on the shelf: [Ref] Ge 10.M66 2000

Book to the left: [Ref] Ge 10.E58 1994

Book to the right:[Ref] Ge 10.W45 1997

¬†My experience completing this assignment was very¬†positive. I learned a couple new things¬†like where the research books are in the library (which was the type of book I was looking for), how to check out a book, and the overall layout of the library. I’ve only been in the library once before this assignment so I wasn’t too familiar with everything but overall, locating the book I wanted to find was the easiest part for me and finding an article in a bound journal was the hardest part I think.¬†I really liked this assignment and thought it was very beneficial.

“Vatican slams Harry Potter”

  1. Immensly popular- Stating that a lot of people are involved and/or affected from it
  2. Expert in English Literature- Expert meaning that he/she knows what they are talking about so we should listen and follow what they are saying. It’s like they can’t be wrong and we can’t have our own opinions
  3. Highest person has fears (Pope)- We should have fears because he does and since he is the highest, it’s the “right” thing fear
  4. Direct quotation from Cordinal- Direct quotations means that it is important
  5. Seperation with someone that you can trust and also someone that you can’t trust

“Harry Potter and the incredibly positive review from the official Vatican paper”

  1. Headed prise- Clear direction of everything which is good because it is positive
  2. Clear direction- Know exactly what is happening and it means such as the eternal battle between good and evil
  3. There is a clear line of demarcation between good and evil. The film makes clear that good is right
  4. Adolescent romance- Acknowledges that yes, it happens which is great for society but it also shows that it doesnt go too far which is a good example to adolescents as well
  5. Best adaptaion- Shows a mixture of supernatural suspense and romance which reaches the right balance
